Abstract
Energy saving and emission reduction are the effective strategies to deal with the challenge of climate changes and energy problems. To support such strategies, target-oriented pinch analysis is a recommended method for identifying a systematic solution to energy planning and management problems. In this paper, regional carbon dioxide (CO2) emission pinch analysis (CEPA) is proposed to determine the target of energy demand and the corresponding CO2 emissions based on the diagrams of cumulative CO2 emission loads versus cumulative energy demand and supply. A case study of chemical industrial park is presented to illustrate the proposed method. The proposed energy planning scheme has a 29.7% reduction of CO2 emissions.
