Abstract
In recent years, the aerospace industry has made great strides in deploying fiber optic systems in every imaginable platform. A common complaint still remains - where is the standardized test and qualification standards for fiber optic components that capture the unique test requirements for ruggedized environments? This paper will outline worldwide efforts underway to standardize the testing and qualification of fiber optic components for ruggedized applications.
