Abstract :
We investigate, experimentally and numerically, the wavelength-dependent, thermal instability of a high-power ytterbium-doped fiber amplifier operating at 1060-nm and 1080-nm, including its spectroscopic and gain properties as well as how to mitigate its thermal degradation.
