Abstract
We show how to model complex systems using hierarchically represented (HR) Petri nets, introduce our concept of hierarchy in this context, and suggest a methodology for applying HR Petri nets for modeling. We then describe tools for supporting this approach. A modeling of a medium sized example, a pipelined processor, is given for illustration
