Abstract :
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a spaced-based radionavigation system that provides accurate, continuous, worldwide service to passive users. GIANT is a one GPS-equipped platform versus many interference sources, constructive and repeatable simulation used to determine navigation performance and operational effectiveness. GIANT is PC-based, is Government-Owned, includes a user-friendly graphical interface for setup and execution, and runs much faster than real-time. The Jammer-to-Signal (J/S) ratios produced by GIANT have been validated against flight test data consisting of single and multiple jammer scenarios across two independent GPS flight tests. A formal configuration control board has been established and pre-release testing at several locations is underway. The release of Version 1.0.0 to users is planned for January 1999. A discussion of GIANT requirements and development philosophy with a description of the model is presented
