Abstract :
Application of soft-limiting in FM demodulators establishes a trade-off between click noise and continuous noise. Although this is very attractive for applications where operation above threshold cannot be guaranteed, suitable design models for these systems were not developed yet. This paper presents a simple but fairly accurate design model, suitable for optimization of the soft-limiting FM demodulator to any trade-off between click noise and background noise
