An aim in study volatile organic compound (VOCs) emission is to improve indoor air quality. VOCs are the major indoor air pollutants, this paper introduced the types ,sources and characteristics of pollution caused by VOCs in indoor air, and effect of VOCs on human health were presented. The pollution from sources, adsorption technology and photocatalytic oxidation technology ect. In order to understand the concentration of VOCs in indoor air, chosen as a typical classroom study. In the study, two different situations was measured. One was that all windows and doors were closed, the other was that all windows were opened and maximizing natural ventilation, and put forward some solutions proposed indoor VOCs pollution-design of the house abided by the following principals:maximizing the ventilation rate and avoiding the use of high VOCs emission materials in the house, ect.
