Abstract :
High speed wireless access schemes using DS-CDMA signals must counteract the effects of fading multipath channels that lend to significant intersymbol interference (ISI)/multiuser interference (MUI). Requisite ISI/MUI cancellation requires direct or indirect channel estimation; further an efficient detector architecture should exploit the underlying subspace structures offered by the modulation scheme. This paper develops a blind, adaptive, reduced rank detector driven by a fast efficient subspace tracker that achieves significant performance improvement compared to some previously proposed methods at the expense of modest increase in complexity
