Abstract
The paper presents a realization of high speed 2D digital filters using HSGTF (hierarchical structure generalized transversal filter) and McClellan transform. The HSGTF is formed by tapped cascaded subfilters. Although the property, of the subfilter is inferior to a design specification, the whole property of the GTF can easily satisfy it. The proposed 2D-HSGTF is based on the McClellan transform. All delay elements of the conventional FIR (finite impulse response) filter are replaced by the subfilters in the GTF. The advantage of the proposed method is fewer computational complexities compared with the conventional approach. The GTF and HSGTF linear phase filters consisting of tapped and cascaded FIR subfilters which are processed in parallel have been realized. The entire processing can be carried out at the speed of the low-order subfilter, because the all subfilters operate in parallel in the GTF or HSGTF
