  • Abstract
RF power delivery (RFPD) system is based on transmission of high power radio frequency waves. This is an emerging, far field Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) method, that has many advantages over other WPT methods like Induction and Microwave based, because of its safety, lack of interference and high efficiency at medium distance ranges. In this paper, we analyze the design of wireless RF power delivery system that enables wireless brain computer interface (BCI) devices to be powered directly without need for large batteries which in addition to adding their weight, will need frequent replacements and recharging. We especially address the difficulties of implementing and outfitting this RFPD system on the wireless BCI devices, which have midrange power, distance requirements. This RFPD system will extend the effectiveness of BCI system, by bringing the most needed freedom of movement with uninterrupted power, and reduction in size, weight due to the battery elimination. This can provide power to multiple BCI devices simultaneously, and can also be made to recharge batteries of wireless sensors that are inaccessible to the electric grid. The performance of this RFPD system is simulated and analyzed with the Agilent´s ADS.
