Abstract :
We have analyzed a linearization scheme for optical single sideband with carrier (OSSB+C) modulated signals for fiber-radio applications that supports simultaneous baseband transmission for other wired access networks. Experimental results showed >9 dB improvement in the carrier-to-interference ratio (CIR) of the three-tone RF signals with simultaneous error-free 2.5 Gb/s baseband transmission. The carrier re-use scheme was quantified as a function of total RF channels, amplitude and channel spacing. It was found that as the number of RF channels increases at a fixed total input RF power, the baseband performance improves with RF channel spacing
