Abstract :
Summary form only given. ACE 4 has previously demonstrated coaxial plasma opening switch (POS) operation characterized by conduction currents and times in the 2 MA and 1 /spl mu/s ranges and opening voltages of around 1 MV. In this paper we report successfully increasing the conduction current to greater than 3 MA while maintaining POS voltages of greater than 1 MV.
