Abstract :
The software design methods used in the Spectrum 2000 radio system are described. This software system is designed to adapt automatically to any hardware configuration and provide a high degree of reusability. Additional features of the software system that were helpful during development or have the potential to reduce costs are discussed. Benefits resulting from the use of object-oriented analysis and object-oriented design methodologies in both the short-term development phase and the long-term maintenance phase are identified
