Abstract
Deals with the adaptive estimation and control of linear systems with general nonlinear parametrizations of a scalar parameter. Adaptive controllers for such systems when states are accessible, as well as adaptive observers when only input and output are measurable are presented. Both are shown to be globally stable by making use of two tuning functions derived from a min-max optimization strategy
