Abstract :
Ultrawideband UWB has drawn the interest among the research and standard communities due to its low power consumption, which enables it to coexist with many concurrent narrowband services in the huge bandwidth range (3.1-10.6 GHz). However, these narrowband signals can affect considerably the bit error performance, the range, and capacity of UWB receivers due to the high relative power of these signals with respect to the UWB signal. The narrowband interference (NBI) challenge is still an open issue since the proposed solutions neither meet the low complexity requirements of UWB receivers nor are effective against strong narrowband signals. In order to handle this challenge, multiband UWB has emerged as a new alternative in the dynamic avoidance of the narrowband interference. Therefore, it is crucial to develop an effective and low complexity technique to detect the presence of the NBI in the different subbands used in multiband UWB. This work proposed a blind and realizable method to detect NBI for enabling the interference avoidance in multiband UWB impulse radio (IR) systems
