Abstract :
In this paper, a new notch frequency circular slot antenna is proposed for ultra wide-band (UWB) applications. Antenna is printed on a dielectric substrate of RO4350B with relative permittivity (epsivr) of 3.4 and thickness of 500 mum. Antenna is fed by a circular open ended microstrip line is connected to a 50 Omega main line. This antenna is designed to use in UWB band released by FCC in 2002 (3.1-10.6 GHz). Band notched characteristics to reject the frequency band of 5.15-5.825 GHz which is limited by IEEE 802.11a are realized by parasitically attaching inverted-cup strip to the slot plane. Effects of varying the parameters of parasitic strip on the performance of antenna have been investigated.
