Abstract :
Within the framework of the EU Power Plant Conceptual Study (PPCS), also the design of the dual-coolant blanket (the so-called model C) was assessed technologically. A brief summary of the results shall be given below, starting with some very important design requirements to be fulfilled and a general description of the concept. This work is performed under the coordination of Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe in cooperation with CEA, EFET/IBERTEF, UKAEA, VR, and VTT.
