Abstract :
The two main HTML5 features which can help with content aggregation are WebSockets and WebWorkers. WebSockets add two-way connection-based communication capability between browser and server, similar to a standard network socket API. WebWorkers add multi-threading capability to the otherwise single-threaded browser environment and can run in the background. This paper exploits these features as part of realtime video streaming in a browser.
