Abstract :
In this paper the rotating ultrasonic drilling is discussed as a new machining method to machine micro hole. It considerably improved the problems such as low entering drilling positioning accuracy, inferior hole dimensional accuracy and surface quality in current machining method. The machining characteristics discussed further proved the important meaning of the research of ultrasonic drilling. Due to the rotating movement introduced in ultrasonic drilling, there are many new technologies that are worth to study. This paper mainly discussed how the important component in ultrasonic drilling, the composite horn achieves resonance under different vibration sources of longitudinal vibration and torsional vibration, through which better machining effect and energy usage can be achieved.
