Abstract
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) has become an enabling technology for service-oriented security. Although CCTV offers strong security that may help prevent crime, it destroys the right to privacy that is highly addressed in many areas, but not in its usage. This research offers a brief review of the literature to explore how privacy concerns related to CCTV usage have been researched, implemented, and addressed. Several conclusions and suggestions are provided based on this literature review. More in-depth reviews and drill-down analyses regarding CCTV are needed to enrich existing knowledge useful to academic research and real-world practice.
