Abstract
The measurement methodology of determining trunking screening effectiveness is at present, very variable across the industry. The results obtained are equally variable. This paper describes a method of measurement which is practical in its application, and if implemented throughout the industry would reduce these inconsistencies. The results obtained using this methodology will show that a segmented conductive trunking system acts in a similar manner as a segmented screened cable. As such, the method of termination of a screened trunking system will effect its screening effectiveness in a similar manner to that for screened cables. Because of the differences identified, there is a need for standardising a measurement procedure for screening effectiveness to achieve reproducible results in a realistic and practical installation
