Abstract :
The First IEEE PerCom Workshop on Pervasive Communities and Service Clouds (PerCoSC´11) addresses the emerging research area of cloud computing with respect to pervasive communities. Pervasive Communities are often highly professional but heterogeneous groups of users who work mainly in the field and travel frequently. Such communities use pervasive technologies for collaboration. Service clouds denote the totality of cloud computing services, applications, platforms, and infrastructures that empower weak pervasive mobile devices with virtually unlimited computing resources. The workshop represents a forum for exploring challenges and new methods and techniques for supporting pervasive communities by means of service clouds.
