Abstract :
In this paper, a UWB-IR transceiver implementing TH-PPM coherent operation with simple delay line and selector architecture is presented. The coherent operation is achieved with precise delay design so that the transceiver does not need any extremely high frequency clocks but only clock having frequency same to the pulse repetition frequency. A prototype transceiver is fabricated with SiGe and GaAs components, LTCC delay lines and passive devices on printed circuits boards. Waveforms and frequency spectra at some circuit nodes are observed.
