Abstract :
This paper studies the actuator of biomimetic ray based on the Ionic exchange polymer metal composites (IPMC). The IPMC sample is prepared by chemical method and the preparation process is introduced. An IPMC performance test system is constructed to investigate the relationships between the output response of IPMC and the input stimulation signals. According to the difference of input signals, performance test divides into static voltage test and dynamic voltage test. In case of static voltage test, multiple input signals of different amplitude are used to test the displacement response of IPMC. In case of dynamic voltage test, multiple input signals of different frequency are used to test the speed response of IPMC. In order to apply to the design of the actuator of the biomimetic ray, the performance test is done both in the air and under the water. The result shows that the IPMC has good displacement response and speed response.
