Abstract :
The goal of this study was to investigate how the saturation influence on the cognition of clothing color. In this paper, "gorgeous" and "plain" as color emotional words were used, and color pieces and clothing color samples of 40 hues and 9 saturations were evaluated on emotional variables in behavioral trials. The results showed that the cognition of gorgeous emotion presents a weak-strong trend as the level of saturation increases, subjects were more sensitive to colors with lower or higher saturation during the evaluation of "gorgeous" or "plain" emotion, and the response time was less than that of the colors of medium saturation. The emotion of color pieces and clothing colors tends to be consistent, but the gorgeous feeling of the clothing colors was higher than that of color pieces.
