Abstract :
QoS routing is crucial in supporting network-based multimedia applications. We identify the resource over-committing issue that exists in many proposed QoS routing algorithms. Over-committing network resource increases the possibility of blocking future requests. A novel QoS routing algorithm called friendliest routing algorithm is proposed to tackle this issue. In terms of blocking ratio, our evaluation shows that the proposed algorithm achieves 10% improvement in general and 30% in some circumstances
