Abstract :
The international standards of airborne collision avoidance systems were approved by the ICAO. Since these systems use currently available technologies to prevent near mid-air collisions, they have a number of problems to be solved. To obtain quantitative measures of current systems performance, which are required to evaluate the system improvements, performance type standards are necessary. Since such standards are not available as main standards, modifications are discussed. The aircraft encounter model is one of the major part of these standards. This paper discusses the model of aircraft vertical profiles using the factor analysis method. It also discusses the mathematical model of the profiles
