  • Abstract
EMC compliance requirements flow from the implementation of legislation in most technologically advanced countries, as the phenomenon of EMI has become progressively more visible. This has rendered an EMC approach a crucial component of the product or system life-cycle. A program which addresses EMC from the concept phase right up to the withdrawal of the product from the market has been argued, in different ways, by several EMC engineers. This paper presents a development life-cycle of a product or system. Each proposed development phase is associated with the appropriate EMC related actions, documentation, and output. Each development phase is followed by a design review and the development may not proceed to the next phase until the review has been passed
