Abstract
In this paper we introduce our experimental location-detection system test-bed using both time-difference of arrival (TDOA) and impulse-radio (IR) ultra-wideband (UWB) technologies for indoor high-precise positioning applications. The experimental system consists of four anchor stations and one mobile station, in which these anchor stations can receive the radio signal of mobile station at the same time. Location of the mobile station can be calculated based on the time difference of the received signal among anchor stations. In our system, UWB-IR signal having 1 ns pulse-width is used to obtain high accuracy. To realize it, time-drift of IR signal generator in the mobile station is reduced to 0.3 ns by adjusting supplying voltage to the device. As a result, obtained standard deviation of the location accuracy was 11.6 cm.
