Abstract :
This paper discusses different issues related to the conceptual development of a multi-purpose control system, specifically designed to cope with hydraulic applications. The main design requirements include: low cost, easy-to-find components, low energy consumption, small size, tolerance to power fluctuations, easy to install by operators and ability to communicate with other devices, such as mobile devices, desktop computers, etc. Based on this information, both conceptual and technical requirements are defined. The control system is desired to be multi-purpose, meaning that it must handle common applications: e.g. constant pressure, hydro pneumatic tanks and sewerage systems.
