Abstract :
One important problem in ultrasound image processing is to find the edges of structures and enhance weak borders between different organs and structures. An approach was developed that detects and enhances edges adaptively based on image block correlation technique. From the image block correlation we can get the "local correlation image" LCI. On the basis of this image we apply an adaptive edge enhancement method to process ultrasound image. The experiment show that the detection technique works well, edges and borders are then enhanced by the enhance approach according to local correlation image.
