  • Abstract
Plans for restructuring the electrical and computer engineering curriculum of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) University are described. According to this plan, the engineering graduates must be educated to think across a variety of disciplines as well as in terms of disciplinary depth: couple experience with abstract description; develop and implement novel ideas; understand the functional core of the engineering process; experiment with both research and design and understand their synergy; analyze and synthesize; formulate problems and solve them; and act both independently and as a team member. Hence, emphasis should be on the development of human resources (students and faculty) and not on course contents only
