Abstract
In this talk, we demonstrate that the lasing threshold in a semiconductor microstadium can be minimized by tuning its shape. Contrary to common expectation, modes of such a completely open fully chaotic microcavity may have long lifetime. As the dielectric microstadium represents a completely open fully chaotic cavity, this work opens the door to control chaotic microcavity lasers by tailoring its shape
