Abstract :
This paper describes a new image processing algorithm for the automatic extraction of line features from raster images with width variation. The features are transferred into vector format. The algorithm has capabilities for extracting crossing and branching lines. In addition it has the ability to connect disconnected lines. The algorithm is implemented and also tested on several image cases
