Abstract
Multiresolution analysis is being extensively used in the signal processing literature. In this paper, we show the behaviour of a general degradation model (Y=B ⊗ X+W) over different resolutions and derive an expression for the degradation model at all coarse resolutions given the degradation model at the finest resolution. Knowledge of the behaviour of the degradation model over resolutions is useful in many computer vision applications and to this effect we sketch an algorithm for signal restoration to demonstrate the usefulness of the derived result. We also experimentally validate the derived degradation model at different resolutions
