Abstract
The secondary clarifier is an important unit in activated sludge process and one dimensional model are used to improve its performance. In this paper, the practicability of one dimensional sedimentation models is studied. Author conducted the serials batch settling tests with activated sludge in an AB activated sludge process and the flux models are fitted with the test data. The Kynch equation and Hamilton equation are studied with two settling flux models fitted, viz, Vesilind model and Takacs model. The results for both models are compared and also compared with measured data.
