Abstract :
A simple electric circuit model consisting of a voltage equation and a current equation is proposed for characterizing the electrical behavior of dimmable fluorescent lamps. By using this model, three possible dimming methods for the series resonant electronic ballast are illustrated. The proposed model is proven to be a useful tool to determine the circuit parameters of high frequency dimmable electronic ballasts
