Abstract
Modern digital beamforming antenna array systems require broadband performance for multifunction use and electronic warfare applications. A mixer is an essential part of the system. Design considerations and limitations for a broadband performing image rejection mixer are treated. Requirements such as constant image rejection and conversion loss over the desired frequency band, linearity and choice of intermediate frequency. An image rejection mixer for X-band operation and intermediate frequency of 1 GHz has been designed and simulated according to the above design considerations
