Abstract :
This work investigates the performance of asymmetric cladding ridge waveguide lasers with varied ridge waveguide geometries. Through a parametric study of upper cladding thicknesses and ridge etch depths, we determine the range of useful geometries and the optimal waveguide design for asymmetric cladding ridge waveguides in PICs
