Abstract
We have demonstrated saturated lasing at 13.2 nm and 13.9 nm in Ni-like ions at a repetition rate of 5 Hz using a table-top pump laser. Streak camera pulse width measurement shows that Ni-like Cd transient lasers excited at grazing incidence have pulse durations of ~5 ps, corresponding to laser peak powers of 0.1-0.2 MW. Intense picosecond duration laser pulses in the 100 eV spectral region are available for the first time at high repetition rate for applications
