Abstract
A new surface waveguide technology is presented, that provides high-contrast waveguides with very low channel attenuation and a fully geometry controlled modal birefringence. Its characteristics (ILles-1 dB, attenuation les0.1 dB/cm, PDLLt1 dB, bend radiusLt1 mm) allow for both telecom- and sensor applications
