Abstract
The main topic of this paper are the EMI reduction problems in high voltage power converters with 6.5 kV IGBTs. The generation process of electromagnetic interference is briefly analyzed and some EMI reduction methods are introduced. Theoretical analysis, calculation and experimental results of choosing the snubber circuit for minimization of parasitic ringing are described. The effect of EMI suppression circuit was also experimentally tested on output rectifier of described power converter.
