Abstract :
BTEA-Bentonite by intercalation of surfactant benzyltriethylammonium (BTEA) was described. Product was characterized by XRD and IR techniques. The adsorption properties of BTEA-Bentonite for Crystal violet is investigated, and the results show that the sorption isotherms fit the Freundlich model very well. The adsorption process of Crystal violet onto BTEA-bentonite was spontaneous, endothermic physisorption by calculating thermodynamic parameters ΔG0, ΔH0 and ΔS0 in the different temperatures. The adsorption reaction was found to obey a pseudo-second-order rate model.
