Abstract :
This paper deals with one of the challenges in the field of offshore wind power systems: power transmission among the wind farms and the land when there is more than one AC grid to be considered. This case is known in the literature as multiterminal connection. The proposed studies are going to present three strategies in order to connect one offshore wind farm and two AC grids with different power ratings. The first strategy shows the easier case when one onshore station defines the power transmission and it is followed by the situation when droop control is applied. The final scheme is focused on the technique which a central power control is able to manage the onshore stations. The results are compared using EMTDC-PSCAD platform.
