Abstract :
We present an overview of microwave systems where photonics is being actively investigated as an enabling technology. These applications include using optical fiber links for antenna remoting in both fiber-radio and optical phased array systems, and the use of photonics to enable new microwave functions such as analog-to-digital conversion and microwave filter synthesis
