Abstract
A-single-phase reluctance generator treated in this paper is a kind of a small steam turbine generator. The stator has both 4-pole field and 8-pole armature windings and the iron core has residual magnetism. The rotor is 4-pole and skewed. The no-load induced voltage waveform is computed by using the finite-element method. The computed values taking skew into account agree well with the experimental values. Load characteristics are given. Further, the optimum skew pitch is investigated.
