Abstract
In this paper, we address the problem of estimating the frequency of a binary phase-coded pulse train in additive noise. We propose two frequency estimators which assume no prior knowledge of the underlying phase-coded sequence used in the pulse train. These estimators are modified versions of the weighted phase average (WPA) estimator and the maximum likelihood (ML) estimator that have been developed previously for frequency estimation of the single complex sinusoidal signals.
