Abstract :
An overmoded-waveguide oscillator which has an array of TE10 -mode waveguides containing Gunn diodes, has been developed as a means for achieving efficient spatial power combining. This oscillator makes use of mode conversion of radiation power from Gunn diodes in the waveguide array to the overmoded-waveguide resonator to produce high power at W-band. Using the overmoded-waveguide resonator with a cross section of 8.1 mm×8.2 mm, radiation power from three Gunn diodes has been successfully combined coherently with an efficiency of 30 % at 91 GHz
