Abstract
Mechanical position sensors of traditional Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drives have brought many restrictions in its application, such as increasing complexity, raising cost, decreasing reliability. Considering nonlinearity of SRM and robustness of Sliding Mode Observer (SMO), a novel sensorless control strategy based on SMO is proposed. In order to solve the problem of zero-speed starting, pulse injection method was used to identify the initial rotor position at the starting moment. Experiment results of three-phase 12/8 SRM based on TMS320F2812 DSP verified its validity and feasibility.
