Abstract
In WSN, data collected by nodes could be sent to sinks by multi-hop, and the mobility of sinks can improve the coverage, which is one of the most important performances for WSN. The relationship between common nodes and sinks could be illustrated by artificial potential. In this paper an artificial potential based algorithm for sink moving is proposed. The force derived from the artificial potential makes the sink move to equilibrium state in order to achieve higher coverage after the random nodes deployment at first. It´s not necessary to know the whole environment before band and the strategy can be done in real-time. The specific steps of this algorithm are given. Finally, the effectiveness of this method is illustrated by a simulation.
